Feeling Good!
When I weighed in this morning, the moment I had been waiting for finally occurred… My scale moved out of the 128 range into the 127 range. This does may not sound like a huge victory to you, but I think I did a little dance.
Also, my fitness buddy/life partner C.P. & I realized a mistake that we were making & are now working to correct it… 4 weeks later.
I had been getting super frustrated that although my muscles seemed to be getting a tiny bit stronger, the number on my scale was not moving. I was working out over 2,000 calories per week, and was under my calorie budget at least 1,000 calories each week. For the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. At that rate I should be losing at least 1 pound, [if not 2] per week, in a healthy fashion.
Welp. We realized that we had been starving our bodies. Even though each day I reached a minimum of 1,000 calories, I was working out so hard that I was burning, on average 500 of those calories off each day. This only left my body with around 500-800 calories to work with on average. [One day I actually worked out so hard that I burned off every single thing I ate & ended the day with a negative intake!]
My body felt like it was starving, and that is definitely NOT my goal. I’m here to do this the healthy way. So that means I need to work to make sure my body is netting [after exercise] at least 1200 calories. I’ve upped my budget to approximately 1500… more or less depending on the amount I work out that day.
I don’t want my body to be hoarding fat molecules and storing them away because it feels as though it is going to starve. I want my body to have the nourishment it needs to continue to freely let go of all the fat my body has.
This is not a starvation diet. This is a healthy lifestyle change.
